You Can Make Friends ANYWHERE!!!

I have been using this website for almost a year, and it's called Interpals. Basically, you can meet people from all over the world and make snail mail pen pals (writing letters), email pen pals, and learn different languages from people who know and speak the language. I have met my 5 snail mail pen pals on this site: one from Canada, England, Czech Republic, and 2 from here in the United States.

I think that being able to have a pen pal is amazing to have; you learn more about different cultures and it's interesting. I have a lot of fun writing letters and sending my pen pals random stuff from here in America.

A lot of people have been asking me about it and thought I should tell you where I found my pen pals. Give it a try if you're interested.

OMG! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BLOG?

Before you all freak out, I should let you know that I made some changes to my blog.
The address/URL, name, and everything is still the same, but, as you can see, I changed the background and layout a bit.

Here's what was happening:
The background (remember how it was pink?) was really annoying me because I want ANYONE to be able to come to my blog and read it. But, of course, a guy is not gonna be very interested if my background is pink. So I changed it to a blue sky. I like the look of a blue sky with a bit of clouds in it. So yeah... there's the new background. Lol.
The layout was starting to annoy me because the home page was so long with all my posts and how long they are, so I was able to fix that so the page isn't so big. It's also because my computer (and my ipod touch) is really slow when loading my actual blog, so limiting the number of pages I had at a time helped a lot.

I also added some Reactions for each post. So if you liked my posts, thought they were boring, I wanna know what you think. So if you happen to read one of my posts, click on a reaction so I know what I can do to make my blog better.
Also, on the top right side, I added a list of different blogs I am following, and it would be awesome if you checked them out and give those people some love. They are great bloggers!

And I think that's it....

God Loves How We Look

1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

I personally love this verse so much. The reason I love it is because when I feel like I'm not pretty enough or need to change something to make myself look more attractive, I can come back to this verse and remember that God loves me for who I am, and not what I look like. 

Usually I would ask a couple questions to think about. Today, I wanna ask and have you really think about these questions:

1. Have you ever (in your lifetime or recently) looked in a mirror and felt disgusted with how you look?

2. Have you ever wished you could change something about your physical appearance?

3. Do you take criticism seriously when it comes to how you look?

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can relate and say yes to all of these questions. Even I am guilty of it. You may feel like you need to lose a lot of weight, or you have horrible acne. People might've made fun of the clothes you wear, or a new hair color you're trying out. No matter what it is, we all know that it hurts when you receive those nasty comments. 

Here's some good news: God loves you, no matter what you look like. God created us all differently; we all have flaws. Why are we making a huge deal of our appearance when we should be focusing on living for God?

James 1:23 (NIV)

"Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror."

If you are someone who focuses more on your appearance other than following God, then I encourage you think about what is more important in your life. God honestly does not care about what you look like, for it's your personality and where your heart is that matters more. 

Isaiah 11:3 (MSG)

"Fear-of-God will be all his joy and delight. He won't judge by appearances, won't decide on the basis of hearsay."

1 Peter 3:3-4 (MSG)

"What matters is not your outer appearance - the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes - but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in."

Heavenly Father,

I thank you for making us all unique. I thank you for all our flaws that make us all different from everyone else. Lord, I know we sometimes get so caught up in the trends and how we have to look, but we know that you love us no matter what, and no one can tell us otherwise. Lord, please show the ones who are stuck on outward appearance that there is more to life than worrying about that, and lead them closer to you. 

Amen.

Are We Being Good Examples For God?

In Job 36:24, it says:
"Remember to extol his work, which people have praised in song."

I remember when I didn't read my Bible as much as I should have. Throughout my life, there was a Bible in our house where I could've read it at anytime, but I chose not to because it seemed like too much reading for me.

But now I pick up my Bible everyday. And each time, I thank God for this wonderful book that was written to teach us, guide us, and lead us towards God.

Unfortunately, many people (including Christians), do not pick up and read the Bible anymore.

Sometimes, instead of reading the Bible, they study other Christians around them to get to know God's Word, kind of like a 'walking Bible'.

If someone is using us as an example of how we should be living for God, what are we doing now to show our devotion for God? Are we really living how God wants us and has planned for us?

We are being judged every single day of our lives. If we're judged as faithful Christians, what are some things we should be doing to show that? Sure, we believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead, but how do others know the love and greatness of Christ? Even Paul said in Philippians that "your attitude should be the same of that of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5).

Just like in a book where you may see recommendations for different authors and books to read, we are recommendations on how we should be living for God. We need to be the best examples we can be.

How are you living for God? What are some things you can change about your life to be a better follower of Christ?

"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."
Romans 8:5


Heavenly Father,
I pray for those who do not know you or do not know you well. I pray, Lord, that we can use your Word to bring these people closer to you, and for those who do know you to be good examples on how we should, and need, to be living for you. Let us be recommendations for you. Lord, I pray for forgiveness of our sins and that we continue to live for you and you only.
Amen.

WHOA!

Today I thought it was Wednesday.
I will admit, it was pretty weird, because Mondays are my late-start days for school, so we start at 9:30 instead of 8:30 in the mornings. So I woke up wondering why my alarm clock said it was 8:35 am.
Then I realized that it was, in fact, a Monday and I woke up on time. =P

What an interesting way to start off the week, huh?

During my PE class, I wrote a poem.
This poem wasn't really a happy poem either.
You know when you have those times when you just don't feel happy, and instead of letting it out on someone, you write it down? Yeah, I had that today, so it was pretty depressing.
I get home from school and read it over again. And at that time I was feeling much better, changed a bit of it, and made it not-so-depressing. About 10 minutes after that, it turned into a song.

So, I guess I didn't write a poem today after all. LOL.

Last week I brought my ukulele and guitar to school to work on songs and play a bit.
I planned on bringing them home today, and I ended up forgetting them in my 6th period english class. So now they're probably sitting there in the classroom...

Kimmy just came home from practice, and now I gotta make spaghetti.

I have an idea for a blog topic I wanna do. I'll probably go over some Scripture tonight and start writing it. I love to write. But I bet you already knew that. =D

Homecoming Week

My school had their homecoming week from September 30 - October 1, and it sure was interesting.

I'm kinda glad that it's over already. I mean, I can move on with other things, getting through the quarter, get ready for my 17th birthday this month, and getting in shape for cheerleading coming up next month. WOW! How crazy!

Spokane's Got Talent!!

On Saturday, August 7th, I completed my audition for Spokane's Got Talent in Spokane, WA.
I sang "Falling For You" by Colbie Caillat, and I must say that I had a blast performing.

I should be getting a callback on whether I made it to the Top 20 Finals this next week. I'm praying that it all goes well, and I'm asking for your prayers as well.

Someday He'll Come..

                               
Have you ever wondered what it's gonna be like when you're in love?
Honestly, I don't know if I've ever been in love in my life.

Sometimes we're gonna find someone we really like, and we're gonna think it's not some silly crush, but maybe love.

But in reality, who knows if it really is love. We try to define love but we can't, because everyone experiences it differently.

You may sometimes look in magazines and find articles that may tell you if it's really love or not. Are you seriously gonna consider whether you found your true love over an ARTICLE?? Who knows if that's even acurate!

The way to knowing if you found your true love and the one you wanna be with for the rest of your life is to listen to your heart. It's one of those things that nobody can tell you whether it is love or not, that a magazine article can't tell you. The only ones who know is your heart, and God, which is linked together.

I know that someday, God is gonna lead me and my future husband together. Until then, I just gotta keep praying for him, and he'll come around.

When you find someone you really like, don't get too attached so easily until you know that it's meant to be. Don't get into something serious too soon. Many people are making that mistake and it's leading to some terrible heartaches.

Smile... It makes people wonder what you're up to.

Are You Feeling Blue?

Here's a question: Have you ever had one of those days when you did something completely stupid?

I'm sure everyone has. (if not, think again..)

Another question: Have you ever spent hours, or days, or even months thinking about that stupid thing you did? Thinking about what you could've done in the past, or beating yourself (not literally) about it and it makes you feel pretty down?

Being a teenager in modern society we live in today, I can definitely understand how that feels. I've been through my ups and downs in life.

Sometimes we do spend a lot of time thinking about that dumb mistake that should've never happened. But what can we do about it? We can't just go back in time in some time machine and fix it, or prevent it from happening. Because really; Stick to reality, that's impossible. Once it's over, it's over; you can't turn back.

But what can we do to move on?

During your lifetime (including mine), we are all gonna make mistakes. There is no way to prevent that; it is our human nature to make mistakes and learn from them. What would we be like if there were no mistakes made? We wouldn't learn anything... we would be living our lives the same exact way, every single day.. is that what we want? To live like robots our lives? I sure wouldn't!

A lot of people that I knew (and reading on the Internet), would say, "Why would God cause me to be so sad?" or "If God was real, he wouldn't let me be this depressed."

Now, if I remember right, God doesn't want us to be sad or depressed, but to live happily on this place He created for us. God would never cause us to be sad, depressed, or pessimistic in any way. So really, isn't it your own actions that cause you to be feeling down?

In Matthew 5:12, it says "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

So back to the question, What can we do to move on?

Whenever you contemplate on whatever is bothering you, remember this: God wants you to be happy and live joyously; why be so depressed? Whatever it is, it's all in the past, and every minute that you're worrying about it is one minute that you're losing to make your life better. You can't change the past, so take what you learned from it and use it as a tool to make your life, and maybe someone else's life, better.

God has so much in store for you and me. Continue to pray and follow God, and he will bring greatness into your life.

Hello, and welcome to my blog.

I wanna kinda explain the point of this blog.

I write, a lot, and I have a lot of things running through my head that I wish I can share. I wrote a few blogs before but I didn't make it for what I wanted. So yes, I have some blogging experiences. \

But this blog is for ME. For me to express what I am feeling and share it with you. To say what I want to say and be as completely random as I want.

My goal for this blog is for you, the reader and visitor, to come to this blog when you just need something random to read, or need some inspiration.
